Counselling
Transactional Analysis (TA)
Counselling allows you to explore and make sense of what is troubling you, so that you can make the changes you need for a rich and fulfilling life. You are not doing this alone, but with a trained and experienced counsellor.
TA began in the 1960's with its founder Eric Berne. It is a theory of personality and therapy focused on personal growth and change.
The core beliefs that underpin the approach are:
- People are OK
- Everyone has the capacity to think
- People have choices and are able to decide their destiny.

It was Berne’s belief that we make “survival decisions” as small children which result in how we see, think and feel about ourselves and others in the world. Those decisions were useful to us at the time but carried into our adult life, may not always serve us well.
We can work together to understand what is useful, what is not, and how to make other choices.
